From stress relief to improved focus and mental clarity to better digestion, there are many ways that mindfulness can benefit older adults. In this session, you will learn the effects of stress on the body and brain and how mindfulness practices can combat the negative effects of unmanaged chronic stress. We'll experience and explore various types of mindful practices including breathing techniques for relaxation and better sleep, guided imagery and mindful movement practices. Additionally, you will come away with the guidance and resources you need to implement mindfulness sessions in your facility, practice or classes and gain the tools you need to manage your own stress, which can enhance your mental focus and improve your outlook on life.
